Why do I need soil and groundwater remediation?

If during the investigation phase, it is determined that soil and or ground water is contaminated, remediation must be conducted to bring the site into compliance with applicable rules and regulations. This clears the title and removes liabilities to the property.  Most real estate transactions will not close until the remedial process has been completed.

During the removal of an underground oil tank (UST) in a commercial or residential unit, corrosion holes sometimes will have formed on its shell.  The deterioration of a tank will depend on numerous factors including the proximity of the tank to electric current, acidic soil, groundwater, and other physical and chemical factors.   Often, these lead to release of product from tank, causing contaminants to seep into the surrounding soil and groundwater. Failure to clean this negatively impacts the property’s environmental quality and overall value. What’s more, the property owner is liable for the cost of cleanup, regardless of when the contamination occurred.

Tadco’s soil and groundwater remediation procedure:

Tadco complies with the NJDEP’s Soil Cleanup Criteria to ensure contaminants do not exceed harmful levels. We also ensure to meet the NJDEP Technical Requirements for Site Remediation N.J.A.C. 7:26E.

Tadco will remove the impacted soil utilizing an excavator. Once the cleanup level is achieved, soil and groundwater samples will be collected and forwarded for laboratory analysis for the applicable parameters.  The Remedial Action Report (RAR) will be prepared and submitted to NJDEP. Ultimately, this will result in a No Further Action (NFA) letter, signifying the closure of the open case.
